Kate Huth, our beloved intern from the University of North Carolina has recently completed the three-month internship program at our office in Bandung. She has helped us a lot in improving the English learning module for our game. She’s also been involved in developing one of our teaching platforms, the Youtube Classifier. It’s been an awesome experience for us to have her working on a job which she described as a teenagers’ dream: sitting around all day playing computer games, reading blogs and watching YouTube.

This month, we’ve begun a new period of our internship program and we’re very excited to welcome the five interns who have joined us! They’ll be working side by side with our team, while also contributing on a real project as they learn more about the EdTech field. Get to know what motivates them to join Solve Education!.

What is your role at Solve Education/what did you work on at Solve Education?
I’m an intern in the Community Engagement Division. My job is to approach communities, organizations/foundations and introduce and familiarize them with SE! products (Dawn of Civilization, Learnalytics, and Solve Employment) so that they can empower themselves and their learners using our application. They can gain so much experience and learn English in a fun way through gamification.

What drew you to Solve Education!, originally?
I believe that everyone has the right to receive an equal and quality education. Solve Education! is committed to providing good quality education through gamification, incentives, and artificial intelligence. I think it’s the best way. We know that technology has a huge role in our lives, especially smartphones. Almost everyone in the world now uses smartphones. I saw that Solve Education! uses it as an opportunity to create a learning app. The learning application accessible on smartphones make education become cheaper, more effective, and more efficient, which I think is great. Now, everyone can have access to education. Through the app and platforms (Dawn of Civilization, Learnalytics, Solve Employment, etc) they can gain a lot of learning experience, especially in English learning and 21st-century literacy. These great things are what convinced me to join the internship at Solve Education!. So, I have the chance to participate to make quality education received by everyone equally.

What drew you to Solve Education, originally?
SE! is very interesting and a great organization. I wanted to join SE! because I love to learn English and I saw that SE! is the right place for it. So I chose to do an internship at SE! for my school internship program. Also, the game (Dawn of Civilization) is very interesting for me.
