As a digital game-based learning (DGBL) platform, Dawn of Civilization combines learning mechanics together with game elements to provide a fun learning experience. Solve Education! conducted a research to understand how learning mechanics within Dawn of Civilization affected learning progress. The research investigates the effects of the spaced repetition system implemented in Dawn of Civilization towards learners’ memory retention of the materials they have learned, indicated by forgetting rate.
