Hosted by Solve Education! Foundation and in partnership with Lenovo as part of its Love on Month of Service (LMOS) initiative, the event on September 28th at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Seri Rampai (Primary School of Taman Seri Rampai) in Kuala Lumpur showcased impactful corporate volunteering and community support. In collaboration with Lenovo and the LPS team, this event celebrated inclusive and creative learning, providing a welcoming space for 110 students from schools across Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Pahang—including 40 students with special needs like ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and other learning challenges—to discover and enjoy learning English together.

The Power of Corporate Volunteering: Lenovo and LPS’s Impact on Inclusive Education

An Inspiring Show of Commitment

Lenovo and LPS demonstrated an impressive commitment by bringing 77 volunteers to the LMOS event. Working alongside 26 volunteers from Yadim and Universiti Islam Selangor, Lenovo, and LPS teams created a supportive learning atmosphere, with every volunteer actively engaging with the students.

A Day of Interactive Learning Activities

Each group of 5 students was matched with dedicated volunteers who led them through five dynamic activity stations. Activities included:

  • English Scavenger Hunt: where students learned vocabulary through puzzles
  • Creative Challenges: allowing students to practice public speaking, teamwork, and creative expression

This approach encouraged confidence-building, social interaction, and fun language practice for all students, aligning with Solve Education!’s mission to bridge learning gaps.

Success Stories and Learning Highlights

Inclusive Education in Action

The LMOS event emphasized inclusive learning by providing dedicated support to students with special needs. Volunteers worked with patience, ensuring each student could fully participate. This approach had a positive impact on teachers like Ms. Nazifah from SK Taman Maluri, who observed increased interest in digital learning among her students.

“This is an amazing opportunity to see students show more interest in digital learning. Thank you, Solve Education! and Lenovo, for giving us this opportunity,” she shared.

Transformative Student Experiences

Danial’s journey reflects the lasting impact of Solve Education!’s inclusive initiatives. In February 2023, he attended his first LMOS event, which proved to be an encouraging experience for him as a student with dyslexia. With the support of dedicated volunteers, Danial actively participated in English activities that helped him overcome language barriers and feel more connected to his learning. This experience sparked a newfound enthusiasm for learning that carried through his studies, eventually leading him to take on the role of school prefect. This meaningful step showed his growing confidence and motivation within this inclusive learning environment.

The success of students like Danial inspires Solve Education! and its partners to keep nurturing these inclusive learning spaces. At this year’s event, awards were presented to honor the students’ achievements, with top-performing schools recognized in each category. SK Taman Seri Rampai took the top three spots in the primary (mainstream) category, while SMK Seri Permaisuri and SMK Taman Seraya led the way in the secondary (mainstream) category. In the special needs category, SMK Yaacob Latif proudly achieved the top three positions, highlighting their incredible dedication and progress.
