Why This Role Exists
Solve Education exists to help young people gain real skills and real opportunities, not just certificates.
In Malaysia, this work takes place within a highly regulated education system. Programs do not move forward because they are good ideas. They move forward because someone understands:
- how schools actually make decisions
- how MOE / JPN processes really work (not how they look on paper)
- and how to get many small approvals to land at scale
This role exists to make programs happen on the ground, not to design policy or strategy decks.
What This Role Is
This is a hands-on delivery and coordination role.
You will spend most of your time:
- working with schools, teachers, and administrators
- navigating MOE / JPN requirements and timelines
- coordinating logistics, approvals, and follow-ups
- solving practical problems that block implementation
You will not spend most of your time:
- writing research papers
- designing national education policy
- doing high-level strategy without execution
If you enjoy seeing things actually move from plan → approval → delivery, this role fits.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead the effective delivery of education programs in Malaysia by navigating school systems, coordinating stakeholders, and resolving operational challenges to ensure programs are fully implemented and completed.
- Program Delivery & School Engagement: Own end-to-end program delivery, engaging schools, teachers, and administrators to secure participation. Coordinate schedules, documentation, and implementation logistics, and track progress to ensure programs are completed as planned.
- Government & System Navigation: Work within MOE and JPN processes to secure required approvals. Identify the relevant departments and officers, prepare and follow up on submissions, escalate blockers early, and propose practical alternatives when needed.
- Operational Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve bottlenecks related to approvals, school response, or participation. Adapt delivery approaches based on on-the-ground realities, balancing compliance, speed, and resource constraints.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with Product, Technology, Partnerships, and Operations teams to ensure programs are deliverable, compliant, and continuously improved through field feedback.
What Success Looks Like
You are successful in this role if:
- programs reach schools and are completed
- approval cycles get shorter over time
- the team gains clearer patterns on what works and what does not
Success is measured by finished programs and adoption, not by activity or effort.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Communication, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant Experience: Experience engaging with MOE or Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri (JPN) through official programs or collaborations; coordinating university-level or youth programs; supporting NGO-led education or community initiatives; or delivering school-based activities such as workshops, competitions, or student training.
- Skills & Competencies: Confident public speaking and facilitation skills, particularly with students and teachers. Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with proficiency in Google Workspace, Zoom, and basic reporting tools. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate across schools, education offices, and partner organisations in fast-paced environments.
- Operational Requirements: Based in Malaysia with willingness to travel frequently for school engagement and on-site program delivery. Possession of a valid driving licence; personal transport is preferred.
- Bonus (Nice to Have): Experience conducting teacher briefings or training, familiarity with MOE systems such as DELIMa ID, or prior exposure to edtech platforms.
Growth Opportunity
As Solve Education scales in Malaysia:
- this role can evolve into Program Lead or Country Program Lead
- exposure to government engagement and system design will grow
- successful execution will directly shape future strategy
Growth here comes from earned trust through delivery, not titles.
