Challenge

Many children are out of school in Nigeria while million others engage in child labour and menial jobs which could not even get them through each day, because they lack the needed skillset for the world of work and quality education to live a good life. Consequently, they struggle with poverty and stand a greater risk of being left behind among their peers.

Solution

We are leveraging digital penetration among youths in Nigeria to offer them quality education through our literacy development program. We deployed our solution on low-end smartphones — allowing them access to quality education regardless of their location or economic background. Through our employment portal, we ensure that our beneficiaries are paired with employment opportunities so they can gain valuable work experience, save up and go back to school.

Long-Term Impact

Providing digital English literacy to youths makes them competitive in the world of work, thereby improving their income margin in a knowledge economy. Our beneficiaries will be linked with internship opportunities after their English literacy development program with proven proficiency in the English language, through which they can gain valuable work experience, save up to go back to school and give back to society.
