In Kogi State, Nigeria, where access to technology is still a luxury for many, 28-year-old Yusuf Amos Enyojo is rewriting the story of youth empowerment, one student at a time. Through his grassroots initiative, Inspirational Spring, Yusuf is breaking barriers to digital education with a hands-on program built for the youth, by the youth.
This year, The Average Foundation and Solve Education! are proud to support Inspirational Spring’s “EasyTech” project as one of our grant winners. The selection wasn’t just based on potential; it was based on action, passion, and community need. Yusuf’s commitment to building digital skills from the ground up is exactly the kind of grassroots innovation we’re excited to back.
About the Grant
The Average Foundation x Solve Education! Grant is a cross-border initiative aimed at empowering grassroots changemakers with catalytic microgrants of up to SGD 600. With over 70 applicants from Asia and Africa, the grant validates the urgent demand for community-led, tech-enabled education solutions. Each winning project is selected based on feasibility, local relevance, and measurable community impact. Through this program, we spotlight how small investments can unlock big transformations when placed in the hands of passionate youth leaders.
A Grounded Vision for Technological Empowerment
The EasyTech project is designed to give Nigerian students foundational digital literacy training that many in urban centers take for granted. It focuses on essential topics like software programming, SQL language, hardware setup for projection, and graphic design, skills that are in demand across today’s workforce.
Working with just two laptops and a small classroom near a university, Yusuf and his team of volunteer tutors conduct 8-week training sessions every weekend. The learning is hands-on, intentionally simple, and deeply relevant. The project welcomes students from different academic backgrounds and provides a gateway for them to understand and use technology for both personal and professional growth.
Local Challenges, Global Tools
In many parts of Nigeria, access to basic computer training remains a luxury. The EasyTech team is meeting that challenge with ingenuity and grit. But it doesn’t stop there.
Yusuf has also integrated Edbot.ai, Solve Education!’s gamified and AI-powered learning platform, into his curriculum. Edbot.ai helps learners improve their English skills while introducing digital tools in a way that’s interactive and accessible, even for those with limited device capacity or unreliable internet.
Yusuf is an early adopter of the platform and has already introduced it to previous students. This demonstrates a key part of what Solve Education! calls the GAIN framework, our innovation strategy focused on Gamification, AI coaching, Incentives, and Network. EasyTech exemplifies all of these principles in how it teaches, motivates, rewards, and connects learners.
Innovation From the Ground Up
What sets EasyTech apart is not only its content but also its sustainable, community-driven model. Yusuf and his team don’t wait for perfect conditions; they act with what they have. The requested grant funds will go toward purchasing four additional laptops and HDMI accessories. This modest investment will dramatically increase the number of students they can reach and the depth of what they can teach.
It’s this kind of scalable impact, rooted in community and powered by innovation, that makes Inspirational Spring a model grantee. The project does not impose change; it grows organically from within.
Your Role in Building the Future
Your support doesn’t just fund laptops or lessons, it fuels opportunity. When we invest in youth-led, community-rooted innovation like EasyTech, we unlock a future where every learner, regardless of geography, can thrive.
If you share our belief in the power of grassroots changemakers, we warmly invite you to support efforts like Yusuf’s, helping local leaders create lasting impact through education.
