INTERNSHIP AND VOLUNTEERING

SE! is seeking qualified candidates interested in undertaking preferably a three month internship/volunteer program designed to provide opportunities for young professionals seeking to gain work experience within the education and international development field . SE! will ensure that all of our interns/volunteers will be given sufficient supervision and advice on work tasks.

Intern/volunteer projects will be negotiated further between individuals and SE! to ensure a balance of benefits to both parties.

MICHELLE AVELENA
MICHELLE AVELENA

Michelle Avelena is a global education professional with over 6 years of experiences that span Indonesia, China, Singapore, UK, Canada and the US. Having gone through the process of being an English learner to studying abroad and finally built a career internationally, she feels compelled to share her experiences and expertise in helping young people achieve their potential through education.

Michelle has worked for the world’s market leader in education assessment Cambridge English as a consultant to help strategise and develop the organisation’s partnerships efforts including building relationships for Cambridge English with global corporations. Most recently she is the Acting Business Development Manager at Paragon Testing Enterprise, a subsidiary of the University of British Columbia. Her other experiences include Head of Representative in Indonesia for the private business school group the London School of Commerce, and Marketing Director for MESO Indonesia – an Indonesian based virtual and serviced office company that has successfully competed against international competitors in Jakarta.

She completes her first degree at the University of Nottingham in 2011, attaining BEng (Hons) Architectural Environment Engineering in the First Class. During that time, she achieved several accolades including Dean’s Scholarship Award for academic excellence and Nottingham Advantage Award for her work in obtaining a solid work experience with the media group BBC. Michelle completed her MBA in 2016 at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, earning full scholarship from the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education.

BENEDIKTA ATIKA P.
BENEDIKTA ATIKA P.

Atika was born in Jakarta and is currently a student at University of New South Wales, pursuing Master of Commerce in Business Strategy. She is aspiring to involve in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) development in Indonesia, through social entrepreneurship and human capital development. Previously, she used to work in a financial service company in Jakarta as an Investment Analyst.

Her strong commitment and hard work have brought her to gain Australia Awards, a prestigious scholarship from the Australian Government. Previously, she also got an academic achievement scholarship from Prasetiya Mulya Business School Jakarta in completing her Bachelor of Economics in Corporate Finance.

Her social interest has been developed since she was involved in the Community Development program as a participant and a teaching assistant. She lived with a local community in a rural area in West Java, helped them improve their living through microbusiness development. A few years later, she volunteered in Sahabat Anak Jamboree, assisting a group of underprivileged children in Jakarta to play and interact.

Atika also enjoys arts and good reads. She loves to draw to balance her life.

PIERRE MARECHAL
PIERRE MARECHAL

Pierre is the Co-founder and Director of RevUp. He is also an Executive Director of Beary Good Ventures, a company specialising in the budget travel segment.

Prior to RevUp, Pierre was the Vice President Commercial Services for Travelodge Hotels Asia. In his role, he oversaw Sales, Marketing, Distribution and Revenue Management.

He was previously Regional Director of Revenue Management at Starwood Hotels and Resorts, where he has successfully led the region to achieve unprecedented gain in market share.
He also has a proven record of coaching and contributing Starwood’s people pipeline in Europe and Asia Pacific.

Throughout his career, he has worked in nine different countries across Europe, Oceania and Asia; he is fluent in four languages.

Pierre is an avid reader and a passionate scuba diver.

YUDI NUGRAHA
YUDI NUGRAHA

Yudi Nugraha is a software Developer with an entrepreneurial spirit. Previously, Yudi worked in a startup IT Company for several positions: Software Developer, Project Manager, and Marketing Manager.

He graduated from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) for bachelor in Physics and Master in Business Administration. He is passionate in IT and Business. In the leisure time, he likes to travel with his beloved wife. He believes that Focus, Respect, and Collaboration are keys of success. One of his big dreams is to be a successful Technopreneur.

Yudi is currently residing in the Netherlands with his wife.

FAHRUL RIZAL
FAHRUL RIZAL

Fahrul is a student at the University of Canterbury who comes from Aceh. His passion for educational development, particularly in the area of digital technology in education has brought him to New Zealand to enhance his knowledge of this field. Now, he is on his way to complete his master’s degree in Education in E-learning and Digital Technology.

Previously, Fahrul had worked as a librarian assistant at an international school in Bali, Indonesia. Here, he learned about a lot of things about how technology could be integrated with teaching and its impacts on children. Then, he went back to Aceh and worked as an English speaking instructor at UIN Ar Raniry (an Islamic based university). Within this job he had the opportunity to practice the things that he had learned, while also learning more about how technology could fit into EFL speaking class.

Fahrul’s hobby is drinking coffee and hiking. He enjoys drinking coffee and mingles with people to build social relationships. He also a happy hiker, he thinks that hiking is crucial to building mental and emotional stability. Therefore, he often goes on hiking with his friends, even though he is studying now, he often takes a little time for hiking.

His life purpose is simple; he wants to share his experience and knowledge so that it can be useful for others.

ROLAND WARREN
ROLAND WARREN

Roland has a diverse range of frontline education experience.  He has taught in secondary and primary schools in three countries, ranging from underfunded local schools in the Pacific, to behaviour centres for excluded students, and elite private schools in Australia.   Although a language teacher by training (French and English), Roland has taught a variety, from Theatre Studies to Literature to Maths.  Alongside this he has coached elite level athletes as a national and state level coach in Australia and Vanuatu, and as the head coach of a successful rowing club in Perth, Australia.  These varied experiences of face-to-face education have given him first-hand experience the power of education to be transformative; provided it can respond to the needs of students and to stay relevant to their contexts and realities.

Inspired to take part in innovative educational projects which seek to improve the lives of individuals and communities, Roland is currently completing an MA in Education, Gender and International Development at the Institute of Education, University College London.  He is a hungry researcher, a creative thinker, a passionate speaker and an expressive writer.
