Product Researcher

Solve Education! is seeking a Product Researcher who is intellectually rigorous, deeply empathetic, and driven by a genuine desire to understand people. This role is dedicated to edbot.ai, our AI-powered learning platform, and sits at the heart of how we make product decisions. You’ll be the voice of our users — learners, educators, and partners — translating real-world behaviors, needs, and frustrations into insights that shape the product roadmap.

This is not a support role. You’ll lead research end-to-end, work closely with product, UX, and engineering teams, and be expected to influence decisions with evidence, not assumptions. If you’re the kind of person who gets excited about why people do what they do — and can turn that curiosity into clear, actionable direction — this role was built for you.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

You’ll own the research function for edbot.ai, designing and executing studies that keep the product grounded in real user needs across its full lifecycle.

Research Planning & Strategy: Define the research agenda for edbot.ai in alignment with product priorities. Identify the right questions to ask, the right methods to use, and the right time to ask them.

Qualitative Research: Design and conduct in-depth user interviews, contextual inquiries, diary studies, and usability testing sessions to uncover motivations, behaviors, and pain points.

Quantitative Research: Design surveys, analyze usage data, and run behavioral studies to identify patterns, validate hypotheses, and measure the impact of product changes.

Mixed Methods Integration: Combine qualitative and quantitative approaches to build a complete, nuanced picture of the user experience — knowing when to use which and how to triangulate across both.

Usability Testing: Plan and facilitate usability testing across web and mobile, synthesizing findings into prioritized, actionable recommendations for the product and design teams.

Insight Synthesis & Storytelling: Translate complex research findings into clear, compelling narratives and presentations that drive alignment and decision-making across teams.

User Segmentation & Personas: Develop and maintain up-to-date user personas, journey maps, and segmentation frameworks that reflect the diverse learner profiles on edbot.ai.

Research Repository: Build and maintain a centralized, accessible research repository so insights are findable, reusable, and continuously informing product decisions.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, UX designers, engineers, and program teams to embed research throughout the product development process — not just at the start or end.

AI Integration: Explore and apply AI tools to accelerate research synthesis, transcript analysis, survey design, and insight generation.

What We Expect

This role calls for someone who is methodologically fluent, strategically minded, and able to communicate findings with clarity and confidence to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Language: Strong written and verbal communication in English (interviews conducted in English).

Experience: 3–5 years in product research, UX research, or a closely related field, with a portfolio or case studies demonstrating end-to-end research work.

Research Methods: Strong command of both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including when and how to apply each appropriately.

Synthesis Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze large volumes of data — both structured and unstructured — and distill them into clear, prioritized insights.

Storytelling: Able to present findings in a way that resonates with diverse stakeholders, from designers and engineers to leadership and funders.

Tools: Proficiency in research tools such as Maze, Lookback, UserTesting, Typeform, or equivalent. Comfortable with analytics platforms (e.g., Mixpanel, Google Analytics, or similar).

Collaboration: Experienced working in cross-functional product teams and comfortable advocating for user needs in a room full of competing priorities.

Attention to Detail: High bar for research quality, ethical standards, and participant experience — especially when working with vulnerable or underserved user groups.

Adaptability: Able to operate in a fast-moving environment where research timelines are sometimes compressed and priorities shift.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience researching EdTech products or designing research for learners in emerging markets.
  • Familiarity with accessibility research or inclusive design methodologies.
  • Background in behavioral science, cognitive psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience building or managing a research ops function or insight repository.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools for research synthesis (e.g., Dovetail, Notion AI, or similar).
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools to communicate quantitative findings clearly.

Good research doesn’t just answer questions — it asks better ones. We’re looking for someone who challenges assumptions, earns the trust of the teams they work with, and keeps the user’s reality at the center of every product conversation. If that’s how you think and work, we’d love to hear from you.
